British Columbia Inside Passage Sail Charters

THE BEAUTIFUL SAILING VESSEL, “IDLE HOUR“,

sails in the cruising area of Desolation Sound.

Designed by the famous yacht designer William Garden,

“IDLE HOUR” is a classic wooden ketch. Our cruising area

is only a 2 hour passage from our charter base on Cortes Island.

The Desolation Sound  area, according to many who know, is the

most beautiful cruising area in British Columbia, equal to,

if not better than, any other area in the world. Other areas cruised

by the “Idle Hour” are the  Toba Inlet and the Princess Louisa Inlet.

Warm summer temperatures  and the meeting of the tides jointly cause

the Desolation Sound region to enjoy the mildest climate, richest sea life

and warmest water on the British Columbia coast.
